Sweeping paisley forms cover the entire face — each worked in dense, continuous stitching across a cotton ground, the forms closer to relief than fabric. Crimson, cobalt teal, olive, and amber sit against one another without a gap of ground showing. The directional stitching gives each colour field its own distinct surface, the stitches following the curve of each form throughout.

The depth of colour reads differently as the light changes through the day — the crimson advances in morning light, the teal holds in the afternoon.
