Simona Wool Rug
Form & Presence
Flatwoven natural wool, carrying both the ocean blue and warm sand in a single low construction. The pattern is a large-scale interlocking repeat of arches and ovals — bold enough that only partial forms appear at the edges, the motif too wide to resolve completely within the field. Two tones, one surface.
A covered porch on a house directly above the water — wicker chairs, midday, the ocean visible through the open side. The rug sits beneath the furniture, its sand ground and the beach below the porch reading as the same color from the doorway. The blue of the pattern holds against the water beyond.
Material & Composition
- Measurements 5' W × 8' L
- Material Handwoven natural wool — supple and close-set, with a naturally warm hand at low pile
- Color Palette Soft powder blue against warm sand — two tones, clean contrast, the boundary between them crisp across the full field
- Surface & Texture Flatwoven surface with a gently fibrous character — slightly open in the sand sections, more compact in the blue
- Pile Height Flat — no pile, consistent low profile across the full field
- Rug Pad Recommended for grip, cushioning, and longevity
- Artisan Touches Slight variations in weave tension and tone highlight the individuality of each handwoven piece
Care & Longevity
Natural wool holds well with consistent, gentle care — the flatwoven construction keeps the surface low and stable, and the pattern definition is best preserved by rotating the rug periodically to ensure even wear across the full field.
- Vacuum regularly using a low-pile setting without a beater bar
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub
- Spot clean gently with mild detergent and cold water when needed
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve tonal depth across both colors
- Rotate periodically to ensure even wear and balanced sun exposure across the field
- Professional cleaning recommended for deeper maintenance
- A rug pad is recommended for grip, cushioning, and longevity
