Santorini Wool & Denim Rug

Wool and upcycled denim, hand-tufted into a rug of angular interlocking forms stepping across an ivory ground on the diagonal. The wool tufts sit full and close; the denim rises slightly above them, so the two fibers stand at different heights. Deep navy, steel blue and pale powder blue carry the pattern.

Denim is cotton, and cotton runs cooler to the touch than wool does — so this pattern has a temperature as well as a height. Walk it barefoot and the denim sections read colder underfoot than the wool around them. From standing height the two fibers resolve into one surface and the difference disappears.

The wool and upcycled denim pile of the Santorini requires gentle, consistent care — the two fiber types respond differently to moisture and agitation, and the sculpted pile depth is best preserved by avoiding direct heat and aggressive vacuuming over the raised sections.

• Vacuum regularly using a low-pile setting without a beater bar
• Vacuum with the pile direction — going against the grain can disturb the sculpted surface
• Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub
• Spot clean gently with mild detergent and cold water when needed
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve tonal depth in the denim fiber
• Professional cleaning recommended for deeper maintenance
