Sante Onyx Bar Tools

Onyx, a single block in dark charcoal and ochre bands, chisel-worked across its face into the base of a bar tool set — the texture close and regular over the full surface. Five drilled holes seat the tools upright: a jigger, bottle opener, Hawthorne strainer and bar spoon, each with a plain round handle finished in polished gold.

Each tool lifts straight out of its hole and drops straight back, so the block is never missing a piece while a drink is being made. The chiseled face gives the base a grip against a wet counter and hides the marks a bottle leaves. Charcoal and ochre band straight through.

Polished onyx kept dry and handled away from acidic substances will hold its surface depth and banding over time — moisture and acids are the two conditions most likely to work into the stone and alter its finish. Gold-finish stainless steel is wiped clean after each use; prolonged contact with spirits or citrus will dull the surface over time.

• Wipe the stone base with a dry or barely damp cloth — avoid soaking or submerging
• Keep acids away from the stone surface — citrus, spirits, and vinegar-based cleaners will work into the finish
• Wipe gold-finish tools clean after each use with a soft, dry cloth
• Do not place gold-finish tools in a dishwasher — hand-wash only, in warm water, and dry immediately
• Avoid abrasive cloths or scouring pads on any surface — stone or metal
• Store tools in the base when not in use to prevent surface contact with other objects
