Form & Presence

Wool, handwoven into a flatweave rug of large blocks in ivory, sandy beige and warm taupe, staggered so no two matching blocks sit side by side. At every boundary a raised woven seam marks where one block joins the next. The weave stays close and low to the ground across the whole field.

The seams cannot be flattened out — they are where one block genuinely joins the next, so they stand permanently above everything around them. Close up they draw a raised grid across the whole field. Step back and they go, and the three tones close into a single warm surface.
