Form & Presence

Microfiber, tufted into a bath rug whose pattern is made from pile height alone — wide raised bands running the full width, divided by narrow low-pile lines that mark each interval cleanly. There is no color contrast at all; the banding is visible only through depth and shadow. Ivory stays pale and warm; Taupe runs sandy brown.

Microfiber dries faster than cotton, which is the reason to choose it for a mat that gets stepped on twice a day. Pattern made from pile height rather than color means nothing fades out of register with washing. The bands run across the short dimension, so the mat reads wider than it is.

Microfiber bath mats with banded pile hold their surface definition when washed cold — heat compresses the pile and reduces the contrast between the raised bands and recessed lines in both the ivory and taupe over time.
