Osaka Onyx Tray

Green onyx and brass, cut into a long, low tray — the stone running in sweeping bands from sage green to pale gray-white, the color shifting as light moves across it. Two brass handles rise just above the surface at each end, low enough to stay clear of the stone. The finish is polished, with visible depth.

Handles at both ends mean the tray lifts level when it is full — a single-sided grip would tip whatever is on it. Green onyx is one of the few stones that changes color as the light does; the sage reads warmer by afternoon.

Green onyx is a polished stone that responds to acidic contact and liquids — wipe the surface promptly after contact to preserve the stone's depth and protect the matte gold finish on the handles from moisture.

• Wipe with a soft, dry cloth regularly — avoid wet cloths on the stone surface
• Avoid acidic substances — citrus, vinegar, and oils will etch and dull the polished face
• Do not submerge in water or place in a dishwasher
• Dry immediately after any contact with moisture
• Handle with care to protect the stone from chipping at the corners
• Wipe the brass handles separately with a soft cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners that may dull the finish
• Apply a stone-safe polish periodically to maintain the surface's natural depth
