Nirvana Jute & Wool Rug

Jute, wool and cotton, handwoven into a rug of alternating flat and looped rows — close-woven passes running against raised bouclé ones to rib the surface across the full field. Nothing is dyed and nothing contrasts, so the rows carry the whole pattern. The ribs run the width, edge to edge.

The texture runs in rows rather than blocks, so it reads as one continuous rib from any angle instead of breaking into sections. Jute in the blend makes this the coarsest of the undyed rugs underfoot — closer to a doormat than a bedroom rug, and chosen for that.

Jute, wool, and cotton handwoven rugs are maintained with gentle, regular vacuuming — jute is sensitive to moisture and will stiffen or develop mildew if saturated, while the looped weave traps debris within its ribbed surface.

• Vacuum regularly on a low suction setting; use a suction-only attachment — beater bars distort the looped weave and stress the handwoven base
• Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth; do not rub or saturate
• Keep moisture away from the jute fibers — saturation causes stiffening and mildew that cannot be reversed
• Avoid harsh detergents and alkaline cleaners — these damage both wool and jute fibers
• Do not steam clean or wet shampoo
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to preserve the natural colorway
• Rotate periodically to distribute foot traffic and wear evenly
• Professional cleaning recommended when needed
