Jute, wool, and cotton handwoven rugs are best maintained with gentle, regular vacuuming — jute is sensitive to moisture and will stiffen or develop mildew if saturated, while the looped weave construction traps debris within its ribbed surface.

• Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth; do not rub or saturate
• Keep moisture away from the jute fibers — saturation causes stiffening and mildew that cannot be reversed
• Avoid harsh detergents and alkaline cleaners — these damage both wool and jute fibers
• Do not steam clean or wet shampoo
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to preserve the natural colorway
• Rotate periodically to distribute foot traffic and wear evenly
