Narita Wool and Jute Rug
Form & Presence
Hand-tufted ivory wool, carved with horizontal grooves running in staggered, offset rows across the full field. Each groove cuts through the pile and exposes the natural jute beneath — a warm sandy line against the ivory surface. The offset rhythm keeps the pattern from reading as a grid; a raw jute border runs the perimeter.
Placed beneath a dining table with chairs pulled in for the evening, the rug holds the room quietly at its center. The ivory pile reads full and close underfoot; the jute lines visible at the edges of each chair leg, the border sitting raw and unhurried where the floor begins again.

Care & Longevity
The carved pile surface of a hand-tufted wool and jute rug requires vacuuming with the groove direction to preserve the definition of the carved lines and the jute exposed within them.
- Vacuum regularly on a low-pile setting without a beater bar
- Vacuum with the groove direction — against the grain can disturb carved edges
- Keep moisture away from the jute backing — avoid saturating the pile
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub
- Spot-clean with mild detergent and cold water when needed
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the ivory tone and pile depth
- Professional cleaning recommended for deep care
