Munich Marble Knot

A single rope of marble, looped and folded through itself into a continuous knot. The form holds the same full, even cross-section throughout, reading with equal weight from every angle. Ivory White is warm cream marble with soft tonal inclusions; Midnight Black is deep graphite with subtle gray variation across the surface.

Turned a quarter, a different loop comes forward and its shadow changes shape — the knot has no front, so it is never set down wrong. The polish is identical on every surface, inside the loops as well as out, which is the part that takes the work. It wants a clear surface, not company.

Marble holds its polish when kept dry and free of acidic substances — the smooth surface of the Munich Knot is vulnerable to etching from citrus, vinegar, and harsh cleaning agents.

• Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth — avoid damp cloths on the polished surface
• Blot any moisture immediately — do not allow water or liquid to sit on the surface
• Avoid acidic cleaners, citrus, vinegar, and abrasive materials — these etch and dull the polish permanently
• Do not use bleach-based cleaners on natural marble
• Place on a protective pad when used on delicate surfaces — the base of the knot is unpadded stone
• Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of the Midnight Black variant
