Moonlight Onyx Tray

Ivory white onyx, honed into a wide, low tray with a softly beveled edge running the full circumference — the flat top curving down to a slightly undercut rim. There is no lip; the surface settles to a barely perceptible dip at the center. Sage-green veining sweeps across the face in broad directional bands, faint peach alongside.

No lip means a glass slides on and off rather than lifting over an edge, and the undercut rim gives the fingers somewhere to get underneath. At six tenths of an inch this is a surface more than a container. Honed onyx shows less than a polished face would when a bottle is set down wet.

The wide open surface of an onyx tray means spills spread quickly and sit in contact with the stone longer than on smaller pieces — acidic liquids and oils are the primary threat and should be removed immediately.

• Wipe with a soft dry cloth after each use
• For spills, clean immediately with a lightly damp cloth and mild soap — dry thoroughly
• Keep acidic substances — citrus, vinegar, oils — away from the stone surface
• Do not use abrasive cloths or chemical cleaners on any surface
• Lift rather than drag when repositioning — the base will scratch surfaces beneath
