Form & Presence

Wool, tufted into filled masses rather than lines — broad, loose shapes drawn from nature, each built up from dense pile to stand clearly forward from the flatwoven base. Two variants carry different arrangements of the same motif language: butterfly and leaf forms, loosely rendered, set within an unpolished mango wood frame.

Everything here is ivory, so the piece works by relief alone — the forms come and go as the light in the room moves across them, sharp in the morning and nearly flat under an overhead lamp. The open ground between the motifs carries as much weight as the tufting.
