A polished finish across every face — exterior and interior both — so the amber and white veining reads continuously from the flat sides into the carved hollow. The block is square and low, with a concave interior swept out in broad curving planes that meet at the base of the hollow. The transition from flat top to interior wall is sharp and precise.

On an entry console in a house with high ceilings, the bowl sits where keys and a watch are left at the end of the day. The stone does not change with the light or the season — the amber holds, the veining moves across the surface in the same broad sweeps it always has.

Orange onyx is a polished stone that takes its deepest colour from within — acids and oils are the two things most likely to cloud the surface and work into the finish over time. Keep the exterior and interior both dry between uses and away from anything citrus-based or oil-bearing.

• Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use — do not leave moisture sitting on the surface.
• Keep away from citrus, oils, and acidic substances — these will cloud the polish and work into the stone.
• Do not use abrasive cloths or harsh chemical cleaners on any surface.
• Apply a food-safe stone sealer every 6–12 months to protect the finish.
• Do not submerge in water — onyx is porous and will absorb moisture if left standing in liquid.
