Malmo Cotton & Viscose Rug

Cotton and viscose, machine-woven into a low flatweave rug and printed with a medallion field inside stepped borders — soft gray, warm beige and pale blush across the full surface. The pattern goes on after the weaving, so its edges land sharper than a woven-in figure would. Knotted fringe finishes each short edge.

Viscose holds a printed color more brightly than cotton alone would, which is why the blush reads as clearly as it does against the gray. The sheen is directional — walk the length of it and the field lightens, walk back and it darkens. The printed pattern stays flat while the ground moves under it.

Cotton and viscose blend rugs stay sound when cleaned gently — viscose is sensitive to moisture and will distort or shed if saturated, making dry or low-moisture cleaning the only reliable approach.

• Vacuum regularly on a low suction setting; avoid beater-bar attachments, which stress the flat weave
• Blot spills immediately with a dry or barely damp cloth — do not rub
• Keep moisture away from the viscose fibers; saturation causes distortion and shedding that cannot be reversed
• Do not steam clean or wet shampoo
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight — printed colorways can fade with sustained UV exposure
• Rotate periodically to distribute foot traffic and wear evenly
• Professional dry cleaning recommended for thorough cleaning
