Lunar Wool Rug

The motifs are drawn from a tribal geometric vocabulary — diamonds, triangles, chevrons, zigzag lines, and cross forms — worked in twisted charcoal wool cords raised above a flat sand-toned ground. No two are identical, and the arrangement across the field is asymmetric, without a repeating grid. The surface reads differently from every angle.

In an entryway, the two-tone contrast — sand ground, charcoal motifs — reads clearly even at a glance from the front door. In a dining room, the asymmetric scatter holds across the full floor beneath a table without the pattern being broken or interrupted by furniture above it.

The light sand wool ground shows foot traffic and soiling more readily than darker rugs — regular vacuuming and prompt attention to spills are the two habits that keep it looking correct over time.

• Vacuum regularly on the suction-only setting — do not use rotating brush attachments, which can snag the raised cord motifs.
• Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — the light ground picks up staining quickly if liquid is left to settle.
• Spot clean with a wool-safe solution only — do not saturate the surface.
• Rotate every six to twelve months to distribute foot traffic evenly across the motif field.
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can shift the tone of the sand ground over time.
• Professional cleaning recommended for deeper maintenance — specify wool flat-weave with raised cord detailing to your cleaner.
