Jubel Travertine Bar Tools

Travertine and gold-finished steel, built into a standing set — a bottle opener, bar knife, tongs and jigger hanging from a flat brass rail on two round posts, the frame anchored into a travertine base with a chiseled fluted edge. Each tool hangs free at its own weight and width.

Hanging rather than standing in a cup is the point: wet tools drip and dry in open air instead of pooling at the bottom of something. Travertine is porous, so that separation is a material decision rather than a styling one. The chiseled flute runs the full edge of the base.

The gold-finished steel tools require gentle handling to preserve the finish — abrasive contact and harsh cleansers will wear through the surface over time, while the travertine base needs prompt attention to spills, as its porous surface stains readily from liquids and oils.

• Wipe tools with a soft damp cloth after each use; dry immediately
• Avoid abrasive cleansers or scouring — these will damage the gold finish
• Hand wash tools only; do not place in the dishwasher
• Wipe the travertine base with a dry cloth; avoid prolonged moisture contact
• Blot spills on the base immediately — liquids will penetrate and stain porous travertine
• Store in a dry place when not in use
