Joel Floral Throw

Natural cotton, tufted into a throw of oversized botanicals on an ivory ground — tulips, broad petals and leaf stems in terracotta, blush, sky blue and olive. The forms are spaced well apart, each one distinct rather than run together into a repeat. Both ends finish in fringe, undyed against the colored motifs.

Motifs this large are a gamble on a throw, because a throw lives folded: fold it in four and a tulip becomes a fragment. Hang it over a sofa arm in a single drop and the forms stay whole. The tufted shapes hold one height across the cloth, so nothing flattens unevenly with use.

Natural cotton with raised tufted detailing is maintained on a gentle machine wash — the tufted botanical forms are most vulnerable to heat and agitation, which can flatten the raised surface over time.

• Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle using mild detergent; avoid bleach
• Tumble dry low or air dry to preserve softness and drape
• Avoid ironing directly on decorative motifs; use a cloth if needed
• Dry clean occasionally to help preserve color and fringe detail
