Form & Presence

Mother of pearl, set tile by tile over a deep-sided round tray — thousands of small shell pieces covering the full surface and the interior walls. The pieces are cut small and set close, producing a surface that shifts with ambient light rather than announcing a single color. The ground shows through differently in each variant; the Natural variant carries wood-chip inlay on white.

Tilted, the shell surface turns from gray to green to pink and back, so the tray never holds one color for long. The walls are set high enough that what goes in is contained rather than displayed, which makes this a surface first and a container second.

Mother of pearl shell and wood chip inlay both require gentle handling — this tray is designed for display and light decorative use, not food service or liquid exposure directly on the inlay surface.

Wipe with a soft dry cloth after use — avoid abrasive materials that may scratch the inlay or polish
Do not place wet glasses or dishes directly on the inlay surface without a coaster or liner
Avoid chemical or alcohol-based cleaners — these can dull the shell's iridescence or shift resin tone
Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve resin color and shell luster
Do not expose to moisture or submerge — water can loosen inlay pieces from the resin ground over time
