Jaipore Marble Spoon Rest

A floral motif sits flush at the handle end of the rest — abalone shell shaped into curving leaves, mother of pearl cut into radiating petals, a slender stem rising between them in the same shell material. The marble body is plain white, honed smooth, wide enough to hold a full-size serving spoon or ladle across its surface without overhang.

A wide kitchen counter on a Sunday morning, olive oil on the stovetop, bread in the oven. The spoon goes down between stirs, the inlay catching whatever light comes through the window — the abalone shifts from green to blue depending on where you stand.

White marble with shell inlay requires prompt wiping after each use — acidic foods, oils, and moisture left on the surface will work into both the stone and the inlay over time, dulling the finish and loosening the shell pieces.

• Wipe with a soft, damp cloth after every use — do not leave wet
• Avoid acidic substances — citrus, vinegar, and tomato will etch the marble and affect the inlay
• Keep oils away from the inlay area — they can seep beneath shell pieces and discolor the setting
• Do not submerge in water or place in a dishwasher
• Dry immediately and thoroughly after wiping
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh detergents on the surface or inlay
• Handle with care to protect the inlay — avoid contact against hard surfaces at the handle end
• Apply a food-safe marble sealant periodically to maintain the stone's finish
