Form & Presence

Natural cotton with wool crewel embroidery, worked into a pillow around a single floral medallion — petals radiating from an amber core through crimson and terracotta, a warm gray band, then a deep crimson outer ring edged in olive. White petal forms hold the space between color layers. Ivory ground shows at the corners.

A centered medallion wants to sit square to the room: tilted into the corner of a sofa it foreshortens and the rings read as ellipses. Prop it upright and facing out. The stitching follows the curve of each petal from base to tip, so the rings catch light in sequence rather than all at once.
