Goldie Bottle Opener

Solid brass, cast into a bottle opener shaped as a bird — the rounded body weighted and low, sitting flat on a counter with no base under it. The cap catch is built into the gap between upper and lower bill. Engraved feather detail covers wings and tail, the recesses darkened so the pattern reads against the matte gold.

The catch hides in the beak, so the opener has to be turned once in the hand before it works — the one thing worth knowing about it. Solid brass gives enough weight to pop a cap without the body flexing. Matte gold takes fingerprints far less than a polished finish would.

Solid brass with a matte gold finish develops a natural patina over time — wiping clean after use and avoiding prolonged moisture are the most effective ways to preserve both the finish and the depth of the engraved detailing.
