A central diamond sits at the heart of the pattern — grey outlined, with a smaller red diamond nested inside. Chevrons in the same grey rise above and below it, and two horizontal branching motifs in sage green cross the cream ground between them. A dashed border runs the full perimeter, grey and red blocks alternating in a continuous line at the edge.

On a bathroom floor in front of a vanity — the mat placed on white or stone tile, the red and grey reading with quiet contrast against the pale ground. The branching motifs in sage sit low in the pile, the detail becoming clear only when the mat is seen at close range from above.

Cotton bath mats with tufted geometric patterning hold their form and colour best when machine washed cold — the contrast between the cream ground and the coloured motifs can soften gradually with heat, particularly in the red and grey over time.

• Tumble dry low or air dry to maintain pile depth and colour

• Avoid harsh chemicals that may affect yarn colour and fibre quality
• Do not iron directly on the tufted surface
