Fuji Wool & Jute Rug
Form & Presence
The gradient is not dyed — it comes from the weave itself. Wool and jute intermine across the full field, their densities shifting from edge to centre: jute dominates toward the borders, giving a warm golden-sand tone; wool concentrates toward the middle, cooling the surface to grey-blue. The shift is uneven and organic, different in every piece.
In a living room, the rug reads as a single tonal field from a distance — the gradient becomes readable only as you move closer to it. Beneath a stone or timber coffee table, the warm golden perimeter pulls toward the furniture above while the cooler grey centre holds the floor beneath.
Material & Composition
- Material Wool and jute — coarse and dense, with a weight that sits firmly on the floor
- Color Palette Warm golden-sand at the borders shifting to cool grey-blue toward the centre — the transition varies across every piece
- Surface & Texture Open, coarse weave with each strand distinct and visible — rough and firm underfoot
- Measurements 5′ W × 8′ L
- Pile Height Low-profile flat weave
- Rug Pad Recommended for stability and longevity
- Natural Variation The density shift between wool and jute varies from piece to piece — no two rugs share the same gradient boundary, so the balance of warm and cool tones across the field is never identical
Care & Longevity
Wool and jute respond differently to water — jute is particularly vulnerable to saturation, which can cause the fibres to stiffen, distort, or develop a persistent odour. Keeping this rug dry is the single most important care instruction.
- Vacuum regularly using the suction-only setting — rotating brush attachments can pull and distort the open weave structure.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub or apply liquid cleaner directly to the surface.
- Never saturate with water — spot clean only, and allow the rug to dry fully in a well-ventilated space before returning to use.
- Avoid placing in high-moisture areas such as bathrooms or covered outdoor spaces.
- Rotate every six to twelve months to distribute foot traffic evenly and slow any tonal shift from light exposure.
- Professional cleaning recommended for deeper maintenance — specify wool and jute flat-weave to your cleaner.
