Frontier Onyx Tray

Black onyx, cut from a single slab into a wide, low tray — a surface that draws attention before anything is placed on it. The stone runs deep black-gray with loose gray veining that moves across the face in broad sweeps. Edges are softly rounded, the finish polished and cool.

A decanter and two glasses fit on it with room between; a stack of coasters and a candle leave half the stone showing. The polished face is dark enough to show dust — it wants a wipe before use, and rewards one. Fifteen inches long, it spans a bar cart shelf; eight pounds keeps it from sliding.

Black onyx is a dense, polished stone that rewards simple, consistent care. Keep it away from harsh substances and moisture. A maintained surface will hold its depth and carbon quality for years.

• For spills, clean gently with warm water and wipe dry immediately with a soft cloth
• Avoid acidic, abrasive, or citrus-based cleaners — these will damage the polished surface
• Dry immediately after any contact with liquid to prevent moisture absorption
• Use coasters or liners which strong liquids to protect the stone surface
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can affect the tone of natural stone over time
• Do not place in a dishwasher or submerge in water
