Form & Presence

Natural cotton is the base of this pillow, and little of it shows: rows of embroidered motifs cover the face edge to edge. Round medallions with tufted terracotta centers repeat at corners and middle; between them sit leaf sprigs in olive and peach, half-domes, and periwinkle blocks holding a small white star. The stitch is raised satin, so every form has a low relief.

Pattern this dense settles a room rather than agitating it because the palette is held to four soft tones — across a sofa the pillow is a pale, textured block. Nearer, the relief shows: the medallions stand highest, the sprigs lowest, and a hand run across the face feels the rows. The tufted centers are the one soft, brushable detail.

Care & Longevity

Embroidery covers this face edge to edge, so the cotton beneath it is doing little of the work. The tufted medallion centers stand highest and flatten first under pressure — keep other cushions from resting directly on them.
