Eternity Marble Chain

Four links of marble, each one formed with a single minute joint and interlocked into a chain — the construction precise enough that the join disappears into the stone. Each link is a closed oval with a rounded cross-section, generous in scale. The form works in any arrangement: gathered, extended, draped loosely across a surface.

On a long bleached teak dining table in a house that faces the water, it sits at the far end where nothing else is placed. The chain gathers into itself, one link resting against the next. From the other end of the table it reads as stone — walk closer and the scale of each link, the weight the form implies, becomes the object you're looking at.

Solid marble is porous and responds well to consistent, gentle care that preserves the finish and the stone's natural character. Both variants benefit from regular dusting and occasional wiping — the honed black surface and polished white surface each have different needs at the finish level.

• Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth to maintain the finish on both variants
• Wipe gently with a damp cloth if needed; dry immediately and thoroughly
• Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can dull the finish
• Protect the surface beneath the piece — the chain is heavy and the links may mark softer surfaces
• Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to prevent tonal shift over time
• Handle with care — the joints are a point of stress if the chain is dropped
