Emrys Onyx Bookends

Solid onyx, carved into a pair of bookends — a flat back, and stepped ridges that rise and fan outward from base to arc across the front. Every face is honed rather than polished. The stone is ivory white with soft sage-green and gray-beige veining moving through it without interruption, the ridges softly rounded at their edges.

The stepped ridges fan outward from the base, so each bookend reads as a form opening rather than a block stopping something. The flat back sits against a shelf wall; the fan faces out. Honed onyx keeps its matte surface where a polish would show every book that has leaned on it.

Onyx holds its surface when kept dry and handled with care — the surface is sensitive to acidic substances and abrasion, both of which can dull the honed finish or mark the stone over time.

• Wipe with a soft dry cloth to maintain the matte finish
• For spills, clean with a lightly damp cloth and mild soap — dry immediately
• Keep away from citrus, vinegar, and acidic substances that rest against the stone
• Do not use abrasive cloths or harsh chemical cleaners on any face
• Lift rather than drag when repositioning — the base is stone and will scratch surfaces beneath
