Darzi Bar Tools

Mother of pearl and brushed gold, made up as four bar tools — a bar spoon, Hawthorne strainer, double jigger and muddler, the gold running across all four without variation. Each handle is tile-set in pearl and capped at both ends with a narrow gold collar. Against the gold the pearl shifts white to warm cream.

Pearl is slightly uneven underhand where a plain metal grip is not, which is what keeps the spoon from turning in wet fingers. Against the gold the pearl reads warm, and shifts as the tool turns. Each handle is finished on its own, so pearl tone varies across the four.

Gold-plated stainless steel and mother of pearl both hold their finish when kept dry — moisture is the primary threat to the pearl's surface, and abrasion will wear the plating over time.

• Hand wash only — do not place in a dishwasher
• Wash with mild soap and warm water; rinse immediately
• Dry thoroughly after each wash — do not leave wet or air dry
• Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals on any surface
• Do not submerge or soak the pearl handles
• Store separately or wrapped to protect the plating between uses
