Dakota Marble Cheese Board

Himalayan Brown marble, cut into a wide cheese board with no regular outline — one top corner arched, the opposite sharper, the bottom corners softly eased. Sand and taupe veining flows through the stone in soft layered bands. A leather cord loops through a small hole at the upper corner, knotted once and left hanging.

The cord is part of the outline rather than an attachment — knotted once and left hanging, so the board reads as unfinished on purpose. Because the shape is freehand, no two corners answer each other and the board never quite squares up to a table edge.

Himalayan Brown marble is porous along its natural banding lines — oils and acidic foods left on the surface after serving will penetrate the stone and alter its appearance over time.

• Wipe the board clean immediately after use — do not allow oils, citrus, or acidic foods to sit on the surface
• Clean with a pH-neutral soap and warm water only; avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners
• Dry thoroughly after each use — standing water will work into the stone over time
• Seal with a penetrating stone sealer before first use; reseal every six to twelve months
• Do not submerge in water or place in a dishwasher
• The leather cord is natural — keep dry and avoid prolonged moisture exposure to prevent the cord from softening or marking the stone
• Do not use abrasive sponges or scouring pads on any surface
