Coco & Charlie Marble Bird Objects

White marble, carved into a pair of birds — each a solid object honed flat to a matte finish, one with its tail sweeping upward in a long arc, body low and beak forward, the other compact, wings spread, beak tilted up. Shallow incised lines mark the feather detail across wing and body on both.

The two postures are why they work as a pair rather than a matched set — one reaches, one settles, and they refuse to line up symmetrically. Marble thins at the wing and beak, and light comes through where it does — the only part of either bird that is not solid.

White marble holds its honed finish when kept away from standing water and acidic substances — prolonged moisture and citrus or vinegar-based cleaners are the primary threats to the surface and the stone's natural character over time.
