Form & Presence

Natural cotton, ivory and smooth, is the ground for a pillow given over almost entirely to two birds — one perched high with tail feathers falling in rust and ochre bands, the other below it turned the opposite way, its breast in cobalt and its wing barred in brown. A branch with pale blossom and green leaves runs behind both. Rust piping closes the edge.

The birds face into the room when the pillow sits at the center of a sofa; set to one end, the taller bird leans toward the arm and the composition holds. Up close the stitching runs in the direction of the feathers, so the plumage catches light in bands. The piping keeps the edge crisp against softer cushions beside it.

Care & Longevity

Embroidery covers most of this ivory cotton face, so the thread rather than the cloth is what wears. Rust, ochre and cobalt all sit in the same panel, which means heat or bleach shows as a shift between colors rather than an even fade.

If washing at home, turn cover inside-out and use a cold gentle cycle
Air dry flat or tumble dry on low heat
Avoid direct sunlight to maintain color richness
