Cascade Marble Tray

The border is the form — a scalloped perimeter cut from the same piece of marble, with lobes at each corner and midpoint that give the tray its cartouche silhouette. The face is polished and cool, white with fine grey veining scattered across the surface. A shallow routed rim runs inside the border, defining the field.

On a bathroom counter in a house near the ocean, it sits beside a folded cloth — the scalloped edge turned toward the window. Morning light comes in flat and cool across the stone. The grey veining holds still in it, neither receding nor pressing forward. The polished face stays quiet through the morning.

Natural marble is porous and best maintained when sealed on arrival — the polished surface is susceptible to staining from oils, acidic liquids, and prolonged moisture contact.

• Seal with a stone-specific sealant on arrival and reseal annually
• Wipe spills immediately using a damp cloth and dry immediately
• Avoid acidic cleaners, citrus, vinegar, and abrasive cloths
• Do not submerge or soak
• Dry immediately after cleaning to prevent water marks or staining
• Use protective pads on the base to preserve the underside surface
• Slight variations in natural stone veining and tone are characteristic of each individual piece
