Blinq Onyx Cloche Board

Gray-green onyx, cut into a round serving board and raised on three small stone feet, with close-set diagonal cuts working the full rim into a chiseled border. Soft green clouds across a cool gray ground. A hand-blown glass cloche sits over it, finished with a faceted knob.

The cloche is doing a job, not decorating one — cheese under glass does not dry at the edges over a long afternoon, and outdoors it keeps everything off. The three feet lift the stone clear of the table, so a cold board does not leave a ring of condensation behind it.

Gray-green onyx is a dense but porous stone — acids and food moisture are the two things most likely to work into the surface and alter the finish over time. Wipe the board promptly after each use and keep the chiseled edge border dry, as the cut surface is more open to moisture than the polished face.

• Wipe the stone board with a soft, dry cloth immediately after use
• Keep acidic foods and liquids away from the stone surface — citrus, vinegar, and wine will mark the finish
• Pay particular attention to the chiseled edge — dry it thoroughly after any contact with moisture
• Clean the glass cloche with warm water and a soft cloth — do not place in a dishwasher
• Do not expose the glass cloche to sudden temperature changes
• Apply a food-safe stone sealer every 6–12 months to protect the board surface
• Store the cloche off the board when not in use to prevent moisture collecting at the join
