Bindra Horn & Bone Boxes
Form & Presence
The Bindra Boxes are two lidded rectangular forms — one large, one small — each surface covered in a bold linear inlay of horn and bone. Thick off-white bone lines run in a grid across a deep black horn ground, continuous across every face and lid. The pattern is architectural rather than decorative — the contrast between black and off-white is direct and without gradation.
On a bookshelf or side table, the pair sits with the kind of weight that does not ask to be noticed. The grid pattern reads clearly from a distance — bold enough to hold a room, resolved enough to sit beside other objects without friction. The smaller box above, the larger below. The stack is part of the form.

Care & Longevity
Horn and bone inlay requires gentle care to preserve surface integrity and the adhesion of each inlay piece — the polished finish responds well to a soft cloth and poorly to moisture or abrasion.
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth to maintain the polished surface.
- Avoid abrasive or chemical cleaners that may damage the inlay or alter the horn's natural tone.
- Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of the horn's colour.
- Store in a dry environment — moisture can loosen inlay over time.
- Do not submerge in water or expose to humidity.
- Handle by the base; avoid lifting by the lid to protect the inlay at the seam.
